After you get the light opened up and the heat shield pulled, flip the unit over and remove the Homelink module by removing 4 T10 torx screws. The other two torx you don't have to take out. I used a small round file to open up the reflector so the LED could be put further in. WARNING, use a cloth on the table when working on this side so you don't scratch up the face of the unit.
